I continue my quest for interesting retail design projects with Cash & Carry IT, a computer shop in down town KL. This would be the first independent project that I undertook as part of JEIH Collective. We handled major aspects of the store renovation from the initial concept design, fabrication works and store identity. Being independent has its rewards, we won't bounded by any rules and were free to do anything we wanted. Cash & Carry IT is an amazing store carrying multiple computer brands at affordable prices. Check it out.

Chateau is a French styled wine bar and restaurant right in the heart of Kuala Lumpur. Another design and built project by JEIH collective. We practically immersed ourselves in the world of French fine dining to bring out the coziness and class in an existing outlet which was originally a computer store. Chateau French Restaurant & Wine Bar serves a huge selection of various wines as well as great food. Bookings for private functions can also be done as the outlet caters as a venue for events. Check them out!

My interpretation of a BMW sedan made entirely out of wood !  Just imagine driving a Beemer with every component including the engine are constructed out of polished Oak / Birch wood panels. Could be cleaner for the environment. A big if, as this design can only exist in my own imagination.

While navigating a host of incoming retail and event design jobs, I took some time off to update my compilation of mecha/robotic designs. I haven't forgotten the Retro Robot Attack Series, a compilation of mecha art that I plan to publish as a coffee table book or a visual book or something like that. Above you can see my latest creation, a single seater hovercraft transport thingy. It features thrust boosters and is designed mainly for personal transportation and for terrain mapping. Yea, I just made that up on the fly.

The Plus Store is a pharmacy that mainly retails your basic pharmaceutical needs as well as food and beverage products to daily commuters at various MRT locations in downtown Singapore. The overall store is designed to be clinical in its appearance as well as to project a serious tone with an underlying sleekness to its image. Indeed, they are serious about being a pharmacy. Against the backdrop of commuters travelling from one destination to another, The Plus Store stands out with its starkly clinical white look with bright lighting. It is impossible to give this store a miss.

Collectible figurines. Tamiya models. Board games. These are just some of the cool toys on sale at Toybox, a new toyshop in another prominent KL mall. As usual, I was really excited to be given the chance to do up a toyshop design. Toybox in essence seeks to provide a cozy environment where everything is set in woody box crates just like how most of these toys are shipped in.  As the store is really small, a more interesting flow was created for customers to have fun navigating and interacting with the toys on display.

I designed this Sony Style store at the all new Penang Times Square some time back. Over time, the design would have gone through several changes and the actual store will definitely look quite different from the original proposal. Well at least I worked on the first few drafts. I am most interested to know how the final store will look like. So if you happen to be at Penang Times Square, it would be really great if you could help me take a picture. Appreciate it heaps! :)
