How
about a chiller for your green
label? You know, something to
keep your Carlsberg at -2°C
while you chat up your friends
before the match. A cool looking
chiller that keeps your beer
cool while making it all the
more irresistible and tempting.
Just add in ice and watch it
chill. Also serves as a nice
packaging for your favorite beer
bottle. Great for night clubs to
display on their bar tops. You
know, I could go on and on for
there are probably a dozen uses
for this only if Carlsberg were
to make one. Would love to see
that happen, just for the
novelty of it.
In the last 3
weeks, I have been really busy
working on a massive project.
But even then, I will still find
the time to come up with new
concepts here on TLR. So for the
month of October, its the
Clock/Chessset.
Here, we have a smart device
that offers a dual function. A
digital clock on one side with
some funky interface designs,
turn it around and play a game
of chess on the other. The chess
pieces each are individually
hand lathed and stored in a neat
casing which you can slot within
the set. The
Clock/Chessset
is part of Thelaunchroom's
series of product designs

December 2008. Yup, my last post
for this year. And what a year
it was. 2008, that is the year
Malaysia experienced a political
tsunami when the voices of the
people spoke loud and clear. I
was there. 2008, that is the
year the United States of
America experienced their own
political tsunami. Barrack Obama
clinched the presidency, An
unprecedented occasion. A story
we may well tell our kids. Yes,
we were here when it happened.
2008 isn't all about politics of
course. There are millions of
stories out there for everyone
who has had the privilege to
experience the year that was
2008. For some, it was a good
year, for others, this is the
year that leads into the next
with a ton of consequences - the
global downturn and violence
that never cease worldwide. I
did the above illustration that
I believe signifies this year.
Red Cube chronicles.
For every decision we made this
year, it multiplies into a dozen
more consequences in the next.
Maybe consequences isn't the
right word. Definitely it is
not, but still, it says the same
thing. We will have to face the
decisions we made this year in
the next. I can only hope for
the best in 2009. Happy New
Year!
La Terrainz is a quaint little
bakery & cafe that I drew up one Sunday morning. The space
is divided into two areas with a central partition that is
made up of movable glass doors. One side is for a relaxing
dining atmosphere while the other side is the baking area.
La Terrainz also features a gallery space for artists to
display their works. Perfect for a nice day out to unwind
while sipping on wine and sampling scones.

// Product design// Agency : TLR // Concept proposal
for Lancusa
.
We
designed the Digital Cube as a
home PC that also functions as
an all in one media system.
Features also include portable
gaming capabilities where it is
just literally plug & play with
your TV set. Proposed for
Lancusa, we even extended the
design into a special edition
series. Floral patterns were
incorporated into the design as
part of the Digital Cube goes
floral series.
Going
regional. My first international
event and exhibition design at
the Samsung InspirAsia Printing
Tour 2008 in Bali, Indonesia.
Yup, it was an event to showcase
Samsung's new range of printers
to their partners and trade
dealers in the Asia Pacific and
Oceania region. Designed with
Evelyn. While I try to
keep my work to be as diverse as
possible, it seems that when it
comes to working on jobs in
other countries- exhibition
design is the way to go. Well, I
get to travel. Credit goes to
Jaysean, Subhi, Karen and Coco
for working on the creative
implementation. Wouldn't have
been able to do it without
them....
Drive further
is an automotive design concept
that was born out of of our
desires to travel greater
distances faster and in a more
enjoyable manner. Imagine
sitting in one of these
machines, feeling the breeze and
taking in the wide open spaces
as you cruise by at 90.
The wide undercarriage allows for
greater stability and also an
option for traveling off road.

The first

Thanks to Jaysean for helping me

circulates the store ceiling.

Retro Robot Attack Series
is a compilation of all my
robotic mechanical designs
thingy (still compiling). I
simply love spaceships,
Starwars, giant oversized
mechanical robots, alien crafts.
I like sci-fi movies. But not
wanting to follow what others
have done, I design my own mecha
stuff for fun. What you see here
is a small animation production
of a "robotic thing." I would
say that it is a "ground
scanner" of some sort. Until I
figure out what exactly this
robot does, I will be happy to
share it with you.

// For fun. You know.
.
When McDonald's made history by
announcing that their
restaurants will be open 24
hours each day, I was at the
launch party in Mutiara
Damansara. Took some snapshots
of the funfair carnival. Blur
shots but somehow a few of them
do stand out, like the one of my
friend and colleague - Jasmine.
What you see
here may baffle you but this was
actually an experimental project
that explores the boundaries of
3D Rapid Prototyping technology.
The aim was to design an
ornament that is intricate with
multiple layers that can only be
constructed via 3D
printing. Each ornament contains
another ornament inside that is
free-flowing. The ornament can
be used as a gift or a puzzle
toy.
Thelaunchroom serves as a visual
record of the projects that I have worked on. All visuals and photos on this site
are the actual original design work done by me
unless otherwise stated.

here are the copyright and remains the property
